In 2010 we designed and build two new auxiliary engine rooms for the Semi Submersible Crane Vessel (SSCV) Thialf as part of the power upgrade phase II project.

OUR CONTRIBUTION

For this project we performed the following tasks:

• Design and detailed engineering
• Procurement of valves and instrumentation
• Prefabrication of pipe work and manufacturing of pipe skids
• Installation of pipe work and pipe skids on board of the vessel

In total we designed, constructed and installed 14 pipe skids and more than 1,200 pipe spools.

PROJECT RESULTS

With the power upgrade two 8ZA40S Wartsila / Sulser generator sets of 8000 kW each were installed in two separated engine rooms which gave the SSCV Thialf a dynamic positioning DPS-3 Class notation.
