The extensive rebuild project of M/Y Draak at Oceanco has recently been successfully completed. Draak has been transformed into a yacht equipped to facilitate scientific and maritime research.

Over the past 2.5 years, Marine Service Noord (MSN) has made a significant contribution to the rebuild. Our work was carried out in virtually all areas on board, with a particular focus on the technical spaces.

Among other activities, MSN was responsible for the renewal, overhaul and optimisation of various technical systems. This included the installation of new scupper piping, the overhaul and replacement of overboard valves, the connection of new space coolers, and the removal and reinstallation of DN600 exhaust piping. In addition, various corroded systems, including deck wash, bilge, fuel, seawater, and black and grey water systems, were repaired. A fuel biocide injection system was also installed, and various piping components were cleaned and internally coated.

Our engineering department also contributed to the project. Among other activities, a fuel Heatpack module was modelled, including the piping routing within the existing system.

Once again, Marine Service Noord has put its expertise in technical installations, piping, engineering and onboard refit work on complex vessels into practice. We are proud of our contribution to this special project and of the final result achieved together with all parties involved.
