Lead Engineer

The challenge:
As Lead Engineer, you use Cadmatic to design and draft systems, such as piping for ships. Your work meets client specifications and the applicable quality requirements. You take an active role in routing, and also coordinate subprojects, leading a small team of two to four colleagues. As Lead Engineer, you also handle cost and time control, and focus on improvement and modernisation in your work. In this role, you work in project teams with colleagues from a variety of disciplines.
You support your colleagues in their technical decisions, and serve as a mentor and source of information for engineers. You maintain dialogue with the team and monitor project progress and quality. You also have ample contact with clients and suppliers, and are able to maintain and possibly also expand these relationships.
The ideal profile:
- Completed at least a level-4 Intermediate Vocational Degree (‘MBO’ level 4) in Mechanical or Marine Engineering;
- System expertise, specifically in mechanical systems on board vessels;
- Preferably a background in marine engineering and ample experience as an engineer in the shipbuilding sector;
- Leadership skills, and an ambition to develop further in this area;
- Experience with Cadmatic, Siemens NX or similar software;
- Mastery of English;
- Enthusiastic, flexible and proactive.
